Short Description of Activity
Melanie Rees reported “visited Roubideau… and found the trash situation wasn’t too bad — much better than I found it last spring. But unfortunately motorized intrusions up Winter Mesa Trail past the Camel Back WSA boundary are much worse, and three WSA boundary signs have been removed.” Judith Lopez made one trip to Adobe Badlands WSA and continued monitoring and found that one of the WSA signs had been knocked down but there was no new trash dumped, just a couple of feet of an animal that appeared to be a Pronghorn. A bag of broken glass from prior years was picked up. The barriers to taking motorized vehicles down in to this WSA from the parking lot at least, seem to be providing entry from this point. Melanie reported 7 hours for her activities. Judith reported only one hour was required.
Reflection/Evaluation
The objective to keep these sites from accumulation of visitor trash has been met at least. Continued oversight of areas will be done. Efforts to prevent destruction from motorized vehicles will continue to be monitored and currently is more of an issue in areas monitored by Melanie Rees.
