Short Description of Activity
Conservation groups call for removal of lower Snake River dams to save salmon, orca. Tribal members, conservationists, and concerned Northwesterners gathered at locations across the region to send Northwest politicians a strong message: breach the lower Snake River dams. At rallies in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, dozens of people got on the water in kayaks, canoes, and floats to demand the breaching of four dams on the lower Snake River that have long been driving salmon – and the southern resident killer whales that exclusively eat salmon — to extinction.
Reflection/Evaluation
Verify effective and got televised coverage across the region from four different stations. Promoted the idea to continue multi-location events on the same days to show solidarity in the Northwest for restoration of the Pacific Northwest ecosystem.
