Reflection/Evaluation
We read and discussed “The Brilliant Abyss” by Helen Scales: Exploring the Majestic Hidden Life of the Deep Ocean and the Looming Threat that Imperils It”. This book is essential, unforgettable reading about our marvelous blue planet and underscores the urgency with which we must focus on saving the deep sea if our planet is to survive. Published in 2021 the book was very informative reading for me, as well as the ideas that were offered for stopping seabed mining, overfishing, climate change, and pollution of our oceans and coasts. I would recommend a Glo-Call on this topic as well as including this book on our reading list for Broads. I also viewed several utube videos featuring Helen Scales. Excellent!
