Short Description of Activity
Judith Lopez sampled at her site in Confluence Park on the Uncompahgrea River.Monthly samples are collected, filtered and unfiltered, to be mailed off and assessed by a laboratory for Metals. There has been an issue due to covid where filter supplies haven’t been available to River Watch. Consequently some quality control procedures have been put on hold that require using additional filters. So far at this site normal procedures on one filtered and one unfiltered have been done. Other samples are collected monthly to be assessed by the volunteer for oxygenation, Ph, hardness and alkalinity. All data are reported on line to River Watch. Written documents are submitted at a minimum of every other month along with the metal samples and any other samples that may be required periodically. This part will be done at the March visit. Diane Spooner has temporarily not been able to sample at her site.
Reflection/Evaluation
Goal is being met to provide consistent data on the river to aid with decisions about its health and uses. Samples are being provided to River Watch further analysis of metals.
