Short Description of Activity
During this peer learning session, speakers will: Introduce the National Hierarchical Framework of Ecological Units (the Hierarchy) and Terrestrial Ecological Unit Inventory (TEUI); Demonstrate how the Hierarchy and TEUI supports landscape management and restoration by providing context and understanding, and tracking outcomes; and Explore the TEUI through an innovative hub site web viewer.
U.S. Forest Service speakers include:
Robert Colter, National Soils Program Leader; Sarah Anderson, Landscape Ecologist; David Lytle, Forest Management, Range Management and Vegetation Ecology Director; and Estella Smith, Alabama Forest Soil Scientist.
Reflection/Evaluation
The slide shows for this webinar are attached to this report. There are also a chat and another chart. The slide show by Sarah is especially interesting in terms of how western US forests are being impacted by climate change. Again, some of this might be over my head, but every little bit of education helps me understand the importance of working with federal agencies and collaboratives to deal with climate change issues.
