Conversations with Gabe Wigtail, Arizona Humane Society Director. Attended a webinar of the Humane Society of Arizona and the Mountain Lion Foundation. Submitted comments on the AZGFD Hunt Guidelines for Black Bear, Mountain Lion and Bobcat.
Reflection/Evaluation
Although I would like to see all carnivore hunting eliminated, this was not a reasonable expectation.
I submitted comments against the Spring bear hunt, for shortening mountain lion hunt season, against the use of hounds, against pursuit only harrassment and against trapping of bobcat. The AZGF Commission is retro, unscientific and undiversified. I don’t expect many changes but one has to keep trying.
