Key Partners: Department of Wildlife, CPW
Landscape/area: Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness (CO)
Short Description of Activity
Viewed Bald Eagle nest downstream of Island Acres State Park on private land next to the CO river.
Adult on nest, appearing to feed the chicks. One chick clearly seen but there have been two viewed before and behavior suggests two are still there. We did not see the second adult this time.
Reflection/Evaluation
We also checked for behavior indicating Avian flu. That was not present. Also making sure there are still chicks and there are. The young will probably fledge in early June.
