Short Description of Activity
Measuring waterflow at Perkinsville, Bear Siding, and Verde Springs. Jenny led four Sentinels – Jenny, Rus, Rabbi Adele, and Domenica (just graduated NAU with degree in Environmental Science). We picked up trash at Perkinsville and Bear Siding. Not as much at Perkinsville since PNF closed the area to dispersed camping.
Reflection/Evaluation
Warm day with blue skies and wispy clouds. Cottonwoods leafed out. Cattails growing, sedges only 12 inches high so far, water bugs, dragonflies, butterflies, some flowers, grass and clover growing. There was some water in Granite Creek but it didn’t reach the confluence. There were zillions of tumbleweeds in the creek and on the trail. We did not find any flowing water to measure. There were deep, still ponds downstream from the confluence. Stillman Lake looked dry. Photos available on my Facebook page. 12 cfs Perkinsville, 14.7 BS
