Short Description of Activity
CPW and River Watch require an annual site visit to evaluate a volunteer’s ability to display the knowledge and skills required to carry out the necessary protocols on water samples. CPW staff Megan McConnville tested Judith Lopez and another volunteer at the other volunteer’s home. All protocols were completed successfully within the required parameters.
Reflection/Evaluation
In order for the data provided by volunteers to River Watch be of benefit, it must be accurate. within acceptable limits. River Watch builds into the procedures many quality control measures including an annual site visit. The objective “to insure useful and accurate data” was met by this site visit. It is positive feed back for a volunteer to be reassured by getting acceptable results on protocols conducted on “unknown” samples as well.
