Short Description of Activity
Overview about the upper Deschutes Basin water supply , how that affects the North Unit in Jefferson Co., and effects of Climate change and growth in Deschutes County.
Reflection/Evaluation
Overall interesting but did not walk away with very many solutions. .with 86% of the river going to agriculture and we are told 2% is municipal water, the Commissioner did not seem too concerned. Many on the call were very concerned about the continued growth in the area and no restrictions in place regarding conservation of water. Biggest things shared was to track rezoning in Bend with developments, look at comprehensive plan which has not been reviewed in over 10 years, getting farms be more efficient with their watering practices as well as the piping of canals.
