Short Description of Activity
Botanist Scott Bowler led the 7 mile hike along the restored Metolius river. He identified plants, plant edibles, and genus, as well as identifying trees, their fire protection or hazards. Scott also pointed out wild flowers and invasive species.
Reflection/Evaluation
The goal was to learn about healthy (and unhealthy) riparian areas, the botany, the restoration that has occurred along the Metolius, spring fed rivers. Also, the role of fisheries and salmon recovery.
