Activity Type: Broadband Meeting (prep, implementation & follow up)
Short Description of Activity
We meet as a team to plan activities and discuss issues on the second Tuesday of each month. In April we met via Zoom and in May we met in person but Zoomed with folks that couldn’t be here. For our May meeting we also made a quick trip to the Linn County Historical Museum in Brownsville just a stone’s throw from where we were meeting to see the new Kalapuyan exhibit.
Reflection/Evaluation
Our leadership team is awesome and our meetings are always productive. Maya says these are the only meetings she goes to anymore because we get so much done and are time together is so enjoyable. 🙂
Our visit to the museum was inspired by a desire to better understand the history of the land we reside on and the people we displaced and to start a discussion about land acknowledgement statements. This was just the first step. We have plans to meet with folks to guide us on this journey.
