Short Description of Activity
John and I attended an event in Palm Springs. The Oswit Land Conservancy was announcing a purchase of a large golf course, Mesquite Golf Course. They are turning it into a NATURE PRESERVE! This was a big event with maybe 200 people attending. News coverage and photographers. I connected with several educators that will be very useful.
Reflection/Evaluation
The networking was great. I connected with professors and students from the UCR science to policy people. Also, the director of the Palm Springs campus. I wore my Great Old Broads t-shirt and took some photos.
Very inspiring and powerful event. It put golf courses on my radar. It’s a big deal in socal because of the draught.
