Reflection/Evaluation

Good meeting with locals who have been involved with this for YEARS. Difficult dealing with Pacific Power who has been dragging this out for years. Currently there are 3 proposals that have been presented – 1) build a conventional ladder on the left upstream of the dam. This is more expensive and only lets big fish pass thru. 2) Have a natural fish way on river left in which small fish can pass. 3) Roughed channel on left half of the dam.
Pacific Power has many objections which say are around safety. More discussion of how PPL customers need more information regarding where the monies they pay are going. There will be an open house in January of which we need to get the community more involved…they had in the past more focused on the dredging issue and are not aware of the fish issue.
