Short Description of Activity
Jane Heisler and Laurie Kerr monitored Salmon Huckleberry Trail West #742 for solitude
Reflection/Evaluation
Jane and Laurie took a 2 mile stroll to get to the wilderness boundary and then hiked up to the viewpoint another two miles and had lunch. After lunch we hiked back down to the wilderness boundary and then another 2 miles back to our trailhead. We noted a total of 4 groups and 8 individual hikers in total. We also reported 3 leashed and well-behaved dogs. 2 of the 4 groups were backpacking. All hikers were friendly and respectful. No litter was found anywhere, possibly because we had already picked it all up in recent trips. We noted one occupied dispersed campsite and it scored a 0 for solitude, having no occupied sites within sight or sound.
Great day on the trail, but the traffic back to town was horrendous due to a bad accident. I finally got home at 8:15pm! UGH!
