Short Description of Activity
City of San Leandro has a grant for trees funded by the UrbanForest program with CalFire.
We have made an educational video about the program, participated in Tree Board events and worked as an consultant as well as planting trees.
Reflection/Evaluation
The start was rocky and then the program took off when a new partner, Common Vision, was identified. Sites, trees, and tree mapping has started. There are partnerships developing with school districts and community groups. There are plans to plant 15,000 trees for climate resiliency in the next three years.
