Short Description of Activity
You never know where you will meet a potential Great Old Broad. When I went to REI to purchase some new boots, I met a woman there who was also shopping for boots. We both lucked out and had an REI employee assisting us, that I named our “Boot Goddess.” The other shopper and I started up a conversation about hiking and environmental advocacy, and I soon was pulling one of our “Alaska Soles” cards out of my bag and handing it to her. She is interested in joining, and we are currently working to set up a time to connect for a deeper conversation.
Reflection/Evaluation
Moral of the Story – ALWAYS carry some business cards with you and be ready to welcome new Broads into the Broadband.
