Short Description of Activity

Magdalena meetings only seem to happen every 6 months, but are in person and involve about 8 hours including travel time. Both RGVBB co-leaders have attended. Mt. Taylor/Zuni Mt. meetings and RERC meetings for that group are both in person and virtual, and travel is difficult for just one person. Both groups deal with Ranger District issues like recreational uses, wildfire and watershed issues, and trails. Both groups have close economic ties to the local communities, which are severely distressed, and looking for the forests to provide tourist revenue through recreational uses.

Reflection/Evaluation

I attend as many as I can, but driving so far by myself is an issue, especially since the MT/ZM collaborative meets late afternoon/evening, and my vision is compromised for driving at night. Also their internet is unreliable at best. I do keep in touch with partners via email, however.
