Short Description of Activity
Judge 22 essays on What wildlife conservation means, and why is it important. Essays by school children age 12 through 18. Winner gets s3 days at a lodge in the Wrangell Mountains and wildlife viewing opportunities while there.
Reflection/Evaluation
There was a great number of participants, and students from a number of schools all over the state had entrants. The essays were surprisingly interesting, and judged on their creativity, knowledge of wildlife, expression of why wildlife conservation is important and what being ‘good stewards of wildlife’ means.
