Short Description of Activity
Several ZOOM calls continuing the planning for AKA National Monument Designation. On November 17, 2022 a public meeting was held in Laughlin, NV at the Gemini Casino.
Reflection/Evaluation
The meeting in Laughlin was a great success. It was packed beyond capacity and many of us, including me, had to submit our comments in writing instead of presenting them. The effort to make AKA a national monument was championed by all the Native American groups, all members of the AKA Coalition, and local public attendees. Biden has promised the designation.
