Key Issue: Livestock Grazing Management
Activity Type: Stewardship (monitoring, sampling, planting, etc.)
Key Partners: Gila National Forest
Landscape/area: Gila National Forest (2658321 acres)
Short Description of Activity
Four members of the GOBW grazing monitoring committee met for 3 hours with the District Ranger and Range Con at the Glenwood Ranger District to talk about monitoring collaboration. The GOBW described the current monitoring process with the District reps and talked about how to collaborate on future monitoring within the Glenwood Ranger District. The meeting was held after the District received instruction from the new Gila National Forest Supervisor to work with us (they had not responded to emails or reports in the past).
Reflection/Evaluation
The meeting went well and the beginnings of a positive working relationship with the District were established. They want to go out in the field with us to show us some of their priority areas. We will be setting up a meeting and field time with them as soon as possible.
