Short Description of Activity
Our Broadband theme for 2023 is Walking the Wilderness. On February 15, seven Broads and Bros hiked 4.25 miles into the Mt. Olympus Wilderness area adjacent to Salt Lake City. It was a chilly morning in the low 20’s, but we bundled up, strapped on our micro spikes and enjoyed a lovely morning in the wilderness. In addition, we were joined by Cuyler, a new Broadband leader from Flagstaff, AZ. along with her husband Tom.
Reflection/Evaluation
This was the first time we have organized a hike in the SLC area so didn’t know what to expect. Not everyone is excited about hiking in the winter but we had seven participants and everyone went to lunch after. Overall it was a good first attempt! The event was also organized by one of our new team leaders, a first for the Broadband. Janet Mueller did a great job.
