Short Description of Activity
We learned about the history of cattle grazing on public lands in the west, and the inadequate oversight process to assess damage. Case studies of several grazed areas were presented, and online resources (such as maps) were referenced.
Reflection/Evaluation
The webinar led me to the Idaho Grazing Allotments map, so I’m now aware of where the cattle are grazing on USFS and BLM land in our area. I plan to follow up with the local FS office to discuss the issue and offer WHALES services to monitor problem areas.
