Short Description of Activity
Hike Description: We will be hiking on the Deschutes River Trail, from Dillon Falls Day Use trail and heading upstream to Benham Falls West Day Use trail head, and return. There are great river views, two waterfalls and often good birding (bring binoculars). This is an easy, although potentially muddy/icy in spots, flat trail of about 6-7 miles round trip (possible to bail out and return anytime.) We will discuss water usage, aquifers and river flows, native fish, bird habitat, old trees, and riparian restoration.
Reflection/Evaluation
We discussed water usage, aquifers and river flows, native fish, bird habitat, old trees, and riparian restoration.
