Short Description of Activity
An Earth Day Stewardship Trail restoration project facilitated by the Washington Trails Association at Columbia Springs, an environmental education nonprofit 100 acre urban natural site that is an outdoor education center which offers events, programs, and workshops to teach people of all ages about stewardship and environmental science located in Vancouver WA.
We had 8 participants split into 2 groups. One group revegetated and covered an unwanted trail site and pulled out ivy.
The second group removed fallen trees from the trail.
Reflection/Evaluation
A lot was learned from the WTA leaders and participants reported on positive teamwork had by all.
We enjoyed great weather and was a fun activity with good social connections.
Welcomed a new Broad of 2 months, this being her first activity.
Being a half day activity worked well for people on a Saturday.
