Short Description of Activity
Using iNaturalist app we documented a variety of plant and animal species along the border near the Santa Cruz River in San Rafael Valley, southern Arizona.
Reflection/Evaluation
Just learning the iNaturalist app, but we documented water and land plants, observed one mammal ( a pronghorn)
and several birds, including hawks and vermillion fly catchers. The information was uploaded to the app and will be used to to request action on restoring the borderlands where the wall and other activities have adversely impacted the environment. We also observed where the “photo fauna” cameras are placed in the wild so that Sky Island Alliance can document the variety of wildlife in the area. A very successful mission and wonderful collaborative experience.
