Landscape/area: Uncompahgre National Forest (951767 acres)
Short Description of Activity
At this point, NSJBB’s grazing initiative is focused on educating our engaged members, obtaining permittee Annual Operating Instructions (USFS) and Terms and Conditions (BLM,) reviewing federal agency budgets for rangeland management, compiling and evaluating maps and more. Amanda Clements successfully filed and received information from our BB’s first ever Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to BLM! In addition, 3-4 Broads typically attend the bi-monthly Broads’ national grazing collaborative meetings hosted/facilitated by Mary O’Brien
Reflection/Evaluation
Our goal for gathering information from agencies and other BBs in order to design our BB’s inaugural grazing project continues to meet with success thanks to a couple of passionate members guided by Amanda Clements retired BLM ecologist. Amanda found that though the FOIA request was fulfilled, its contents are missing some information she requested and includes information she didn’t request so she is following up.
