Short Description of Activity
Colorado native Plant Society organized a presentation about the use and purpose of native plantings at the Lunch Loop area. The speakers were Kenton Seth from Paintbrush Gardens who designed and carried out much of the planting in the area. and Libby Collins from CWLT who organized weekly volunteer gathering to facilitate the growth of plants after they were in the ground. Jim Pisarowicz from CONPS also talked about activities they had planned for the Summer months..
Reflection/Evaluation
Kenton told of many techniques he tried to make most efficient use of rain water that occurred there, the plant choices he made when deciding what to plant here, and the challenges faced to successfully carry out this project. Libby also talked about the learnings they experienced in trying to keep the plants alive until they established good root structures. The goal of this gathering was that all in attendance would learn more about techniques for working toward the growth pf planted native plants.. That goal was successfully meet in many ways..
