Short Description of Activity
WHALES members were trained to monitor solitude in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness by USFS and WWA staff. Trained WHALES are each responsible for at least one subsequent monitoring visit to one of several trails we’re responsible for.
Reflection/Evaluation
Response from the WHALES exceeded expectations, and all seem to be happy to help the Forest Service manage the wilderness in our own back yards. Another training trip is scheduled for July.
