Short Description of Activity
Representative explained how to tell the difference between black and grizzly bears, and what to do when encountering them. He brought a device that simulates a bear charge, and each attendee had several chances to react and successfully deploy bear spray.
Reflection/Evaluation
We spend a lot of time in our nearby wilderness, and bear encounters, while unusual, occasionally happen. We feel more confident in our ability to use bear spray, but now recognize how much practice is needed to become proficient.
