Short Description of Activity
Met via Zoom to discuss committee status, including how to find a new committee leader moving forward. Sally Sharp facilitated the meeting and summarized the recent legal settlement with U.S. Government in Border Wall Case Challenging the Illegal Transfer of Military Construction Funds. “The central provisions of the settlement are a commitment by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to stop further construction of the border wall in areas impacted by Trump’s illegal funds transfers, to mitigate harms to communities and wildlife caused by the construction, and to protect endangered and threatened animal species harmed by this border wall construction.”
Reflection/Evaluation
Was helpful. Next time we need to post the time of this Zoom meeting with more “heads up” time. Several GOBW members from further north in NM expressed interest in joining our Zoom meetings. We may need to go to ad hoc meeting status – possibly – until a new committee leader is found.
