Measurable Outcomes
Outcome 1: Other (3 Other)
Short Description of Activity
This was a stewardship activity that built Beaver Dam Analog (BDAs) in partnership with a landowner with property that was adjacent to national forests. The landowner interacted with the volunteers and shared the history of the property (I shared info. about the Broads-she may be interested). Even though I was the only Broad there, activity was set up through Anne’s WRV connection and it showed we had an interest in learning about their projects and assessing them for member involvement.
Reflection/Evaluation
Yes, I met the goal of learning of the structures and how they might tie into the larger beaver monitoring activities we are trying. The Forest Service biologist toured a previous BDA project that WRV did so it was good to talk about the broader picture. The work was rather strenuous so might not be appealing to some Broads, but it could be adapted for physical conditions.
