Short Description of Activity

We co-sponsored this flotilla at Green Lake in Seattle with the Endangered Species Coalition to raise public awareness of the need to breach the Lower Snake River Dams and save the salmon and the orcas. The Endangered Species Coalition organized the kayakers who went out onto Green Lake and hoisted a banner. We tabled and handed our leaflets and postcards about the Great Old Broads and the need to breach the Lower Snake River Dams.

Reflection/Evaluation

Green Lake is a busy place on a Saturday morning with many walkers, joggers, and families traversing the three-mile trail around the lake.. Consequently, our event was effective in raising some public awareness of the need to breach the Lower Snake River Dams. It was also a good opportunity to meet the Pacific Northwest Director of the Endangered Species Coalition and collaborate with them on a successful event.
