4. Next hike in Marckworth Legacy Forest to see the site of the Wishbone Logging Sale (Barb)
5. Ideas for October meeting? Anyone want to host at her house?
6. Upcoming events—
a. Book Club via Zoom, August 7th at 7 pm.
b. Speaker on Legacy Forests, Sept. 21st at 7 pm via Zoom.

Reflection/Evaluation

This was another successful in-person meeting on Janka Hobb’s patio in Kirkland. We had a nice turn-out of sixteen Broads, including two new members who had never before attended a meeting or event. We had a lively discussion of several on-going advocacy issues including the Asphalt plant proposed to be built on the Cedar River and the LAND Alliance. . We also discussed plans for our hike on August 22nd in the Marckworth Legacy Forest, site of the proposed Wishbone Logging Sale which was scheduled for July 25th and postponed due to protests by environmental groups. We plan to hear more about Legacy Forests from a talk and discussion on September 21st at 7 pm via Zoom with Brel Froebe, Interim Executive Director of the Center for Responsible Forestry.
