Short Description of Activity
Postcards were written to the Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz to stop timber sales in the Elwha River Watershed. Also postcards to Senator Maria Cantwell & President Biden/CEQ Chair Mallory to breach the Lower Snake River Dams to restore the lower Snake River.
Reflection/Evaluation
After a brief presentation of the Power Plant and TCB23 timber sales located in the Elwha River Watershed and a lively discussion, postcards were written asking Commissioner Hilary Franz to stop these sales to protect the watershed and the Elwha River restoration which Broads have been involved with for years.
The event then included another round of postcards to the Biden administration asking for the removal of the Lower Snake River Dams and also asking Senator Cantwell to join in saving salmon and orca.
The opportunity to learn about Legacy Forests and Mature & Old Growth Trees was a bonus of the event. Objective & goal was met as well as fun.
