Short Description of Activity
Participated in the 2023 California Biodiversity Day, Mono Basin Scenic area. Overall the project identified 461 species with close to 1,000 observations. Forty-seven people participated. There were 3 broads from the Eastern Sierra — both Janets and me. It looks like Janet Carle had 90 observations.
Reflection/Evaluation
This was a Biodiversity Day event organized by the State, I think. Mono Lake is one of the local priorities for 30×30 (Sierra Club) and an area at risk due to water diversions by the LA Department of Water and Power. The goals were to get outdoors, identify the species in the area, which also helps judge the health of the land.
