Short Description of Activity
Monthly field trip to measure waterflow and sediment levels on the Upper Verde River at Perkinsville, Bear Siding, and Verde Springs. Team leader Jenny Cobb with Russ Pilcher and Rabbi Adele.
Reflection/Evaluation
First, notice river looked fast at Perkinsville, but shallow. 13 cfs. Bear Siding 13.4 cfs. We picked up very little trash in both places. Inspected Verde Springs – Granite Creek meets the river. Traill to Stillman Lake overgrown. Usual large pools. More water at the 40 foot spot downstream covered in autumn leaves. One visible trickle on the west side of less than a foot. The huge pool downstream beneath the cliff was shallower than usual. for photographs see Jenny’s Facebook page.
