Short Description of Activity
Our Co-leaders met (via Zoom) with Rio Grande Valley Broadband Co-leaders to begin discussing plans for our combined annual retreat & Gila Wilderness Centennial celebration. For our annual retreat in 2024 we aim to include other Broadbands in New Mexico (and perhaps more regionally) while we celebrate the centennial anniversary of the first designated wilderness in the nation. The Rio Grande Valley co-leaders are eager to join in and help. We discussed potential dates and venue. We also mentioned some of the other programs/ events offered by GNF and various non-profit organizations etc. that will be part of the wider celebration beginning in February and ending in Sept. 2024.
Reflection/Evaluation
The meeting went very well. We did some brainstorming etc. plus suggested potential dates. First step will be to make venue reservations in early January and then plan another Zoom meeting. We look forward to the participation and input of our NM Broadband co-leaders from the “north” (New Mexico, that is.)
