Short Description of Activity

The Cascade Volcanoes E&J committee, Barb, Linda and Lorena, attended the showing of the film “End of the Line: The Women of Standing Rock followed by a presentation and discussion period by the Cowlitz Tribe’s spiritual Leader, Tanna Engdahl.

Reflection/Evaluation

The movie was very intense and similar story content of the movie “Warrior Women”, showing the strength, unity and the power of united community that tribal women organize in addressing issues that are a threat to tribal lands and people, mostly around the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Tanna Engdahl was wonderful to listen to. There was a large attendance, diverse ages but all white attendance. People brought good observations and insights regarding the movie. One woman asked Tanna what, as white people, can we do to support the tribe and to be good Allys. Tanna replied to be a good neighbor, to give to those who have less and who struggle and to be good stewards of the land.
