Short Description of Activity
In-person advocacy night focused on the River Democracy Act, a proposed bill to protect more than 3,000 miles of Wild and Scenic Rivers in Oregon. Chandra gave background and an update, and led everyone through writing postcards to Senator Wyden and their House representative. Three people also volunteered to write letters to the editor for three different papers in support of the bill.
Reflection/Evaluation
Tried out Calapooia Brewing in Albany for the first time. Worked great! And the owner attended and wrote postcards!
Two brand new Broads, and one more pretty new one, attended (in addition to the brewery owner) – and a total of 14 which is great. Everyone is quite passionate about this issue.
