Short Description of Activity
I presented a short “objection resolution” comment to the USFS at a virtual meeting. I conferred with several others, including Broad’s members and Keep Routt Wild. Carol Fischer was present. Keep Routt Wild is working with an attorney who has expertise with regard to the Colorado Roadless Rule (he actually drafted the rule) and they drafted a compromise proposal that I supported.
Reflection/Evaluation
Goal was to continue to participate in USFS public process on the Mad Rabbit project There were no questions or discussion with regard to my comments. Subsequently we received a response from the District Manager with regard to our objections with no real sense that they had reconsidered their decision.
It is difficult to know when to stand firm, and when to support a compromise, especially when there is little sense that the Forest Service has any interest in opposing views!
