Short Description of Activity
We got together at Nataani Nez restaurant in Shiprock, NM on the Navajo Nation to plan a National Broadwalk for the Broads. I applied for the grant online when I got home. It was an opportunity for a cultural experience with local cultural consultants to show us oil, uranium, and other mining restoration. We also planned to hike in the footsteps of Alice Eastwood the late 1800’s botanist and see hanging gardens and take plant sketching lessons from Mr. Joe.
Reflection/Evaluation
Our Broadwalk grant wasn’t funded, but the lines of communication have been reestablished. Hopefully we can fit Mr. Joe and Mr. Clifford into other Broads activities. They are both motivational speakers and presenters and would enrich Broads activities.
