Short Description of Activity
This was the first annual community volunteer event in Cortez, so Lisa and I decided to table and represent 4Corners Broadband. Sally helped me make a petition against uranium exploration at Slick Rock Canyon. Jolene helped with the actual table and swag. We collected 39 petition signatures and 18 people signed the contact list. Jane is organizing the google group contact list. I even spoke with a mom and her 3 kids who all want to help bring a Green Amendment to CO.
Reflection/Evaluation
Great event for us. All of the participants came to volunteer and they had their choice of many local organizations. All of our projects were featured on our banner and people were interested. It seems like we’ll get more new members and plenty of new contacts to help with our projects. LOR and Spark the Change Colorado were the sponsors and I made some good connections- no funding offers yet. They interviewed me (and all tablers) on video about our projects and need for volunteers and funding. I’ve seen their videos on social media. Lots of people told me they’ve heard of us (in a good way!)
