Reflection/Evaluation
Sadly our Alaska legislators are backing this proposed atrocity of a road. One of their main selling points is access to ‘critical minerals’ for green energy development. However none of the proposed mines have claimed to have any critical minerals for development potential. They do have copper, which is not a critical mineral, and most of the minerals mined will be exported. The largest mining interest involved is a multi-national corporation. This has been a real priority for the Alaska Soles and we have worked with many other conservation organizations in our efforts, and been part of the Stop the Ambler Road coalition.
