Landscape/area: Prescott National Forest (1257005 acres)
Short Description of Activity
Jenny led team of Russ (who is a Broad now), Rabbi Adele, and guest Jennie Tutone from Natural History Institute. We found muddy road abut 3 miles from Perkinsville but continued on.
Reflection/Evaluation
Perkinsville 15.78 cfs following recent rain and snow events. We did not go to Bear Siding because there would have been muddy roads. Verde Springs: Granite Creek meets confluence, usual pools, no measurable waterflow. We had time, so hiked up the trail to inspect Stillman Springs Lake – found water and ducks. Had to turn around because Adele was complaining about “hiking.” Stillman Lake has been part of Water Sentinels since 2006 but we usually don’t have time to hike further and see if there is water or even cows grazing illegally. Usually only see the lower part where it is overgrown and there is no water. Photos on my FB page.
