Short Description of Activity
Three WHALES leaders met with WWA staff and our CTNF Wilderness Supervisor to select dates for training hikes for new solitude monitors. We were also updated on the status of the Draft EIS for the expansion of Grand Targhee Ski Resort. We learned of CTNF staff changes, as well as planned improvements to trailheads and trails in the area. We agreed to plan together for commemoration of the Wilderness Act in September.
Reflection/Evaluation
Our excellent relationships with our NF District staff and WWA makes our collaboration easy and nearly seamless. We have been effective solitude monitors, so we’re being given additional trails and higher expectations this year.
