Key Issue: Water-related Conservation
Activity Type: Stewardship (monitoring, sampling, planting, etc.)
Key Partners: CPW and River Watch organization
Measurable Outcomes
Outcome 1: Stream/river sampled (7 samples)
Short Description of Activity
I was assigned to take annual samples for nutrient assessment as well as a duplicate of this sampling so four samples were involved for this task. I did normal sampling as well which requires a filtered and an unfiltered sample for assessing metals in the water. An additional sample was collected in order for me to assess pH, alkalinity, hardness, and oxygenation of the water in the Uncompahgre River in Confluence Park in Delta. Metal samples and nutrient samples were kept cold and mailed on 5/20/24 to River Watch. The data was submitted on line to River Watch as well as written data forms mailed with the samples. CPW also was updated on line for the sampling event.
Reflection/Evaluation
The goal is to provide consistent, reliable data to River Watch and CPW so that decision makers can make plans to meet the needs of the river based on that data. The goal/objectives continue to be met.
