Short Description of Activity
Between April 1 and May 18, attended 6 Zoom meetings and one public listening session regarding the establishment of a 9000-acre inland port in west Weber County. Also sent emails to city council members and other elected officials. Sent one LTE to local paper and asked questions at the listening session.
Reflection/Evaluation
Despite rallies, letters, petitions, and public outcry the Utah Inland Port Authority voted on May 20 to approve the 9000-acre inland port. A small victory was achieved when the port authority allotted 3-percent of the tax increment total to wetland mitigation instead of the one percent originally proposed.
