Short Description of Activity

Bondi, Darlene, Micky, Laurie, Barb, and Rosanne attended Rendezvous 2024 at Brooks Memorial in Goldendale, Wa.

Reflection/Evaluation

Overall, it was a great event! We joined the North Cascades, Bend and Willamette chapters as well as Audrey, Emily, and Sara for meals, planning, hiking, and fun! Micky let an introduction and overview of the event. We shared what each chapter was engaged with as well as presentations on the Owyhee, NW Forest Plan Amendment, BLM Conservation Rule, FS Mature and Old Growth, of which many of us had submitted our comments.

Many chose to visit the Goldendale Observatory and learn about astronomy.
The special treat was the light show on Friday night where the northern lights were very vivid and AMAZING! This was serendipity! We had a great tour of the museum which included exhibits on the Native American culture. We also hiked around the area and some enjoyed a botany hike with Scott Bowler while other groups hiked out to the Brooks Memorial location. The weather was terrific! We also dined on the Greek food from the local bakery as well as John’s fabulous cooking! Everyone seemed to enjoy each other’s company. We corroborated in creating a list of ideas for improvements on Friday.

All in all, it was a great event and I look forward to our next one in 2026!
