Short Description of Activity
Roxie, Kris, Micky, Laurie, Jane, Ellen, and Carole joined other partners in Portland for the Climate Alliance Forest Rally.
Reflection/Evaluation
Roxie and Kris had never attended a Forest Rally before so it was very educational for them. And it was Roxie’s very first rally and tabling event! The event was well attended with 80-100 people there with singing/chanting/ drumming and speakers with Oregon Wild, Nez Perce, Cascadia Wildlands and others talking about the importance of old growth. The venue was chosen because it was across the street from the Forest Service’ office. A group photo of all of us holding signs was taken.
Laurie had previously asked permission to bring postcards for the Owyhee and easily gathered 49 signatures but she ran out of postcards. Hopefully, Emily can supply her with 50 more for her next event. It was a great event with lots of networking! I was excited to meet partners in person rather than on zoom! And we also gathered 10 signatures from people who were interested in joining Broads. So productive!
